1 Timothy  1:15-17...Praise to Our King...

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The notion here that Paul is the worst among sinners is something to think about. When we were lost and without hope our sins did not seem great or anything out of the ordinary, however, once we were introduced to the truth of Jesus Christ we understood how our sins were in the way of our fellowship with Him. Having received the unmatched mercy provided by the cross ,and the grace of God, that separation has been removed thereby revealing to us how wretched a sinner we were. We then share in the appraisal of Paul and understand that without Christ we were doomed and now are saved. For that and millions of more reasons we join with Paul in the praise of our King.
