Luke 6:37-38...Give Generously...
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
A good number of people today give charitably for a reason. They wish to elevate themselves to a position whereby they might be listened to or appreciated for what they have to say. They use their charity as a tool to set themselves apart and then to judge others by their own standards. That kind of charity holds no meaning at all. Charity should be accomplished in private and unannounced. Not used as a crutch or tool by which to gain status. Jesus instructed us to give and promised that our return would be more than our cup can hold. Overall we should be charitable, loving, kind and appreciative of all that God has provided. Especially since He does not owe us anything and we owe Him everything.
