John 4:7-10...Living Water...
When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
Jesus was often found in places that no one expected. He talked to people that others might avoid and he reached out to everyone around Him with the message of hope and eternal life. This is our example. We need to tell everyone of the love of Christ and of the salvation that is free for the asking. No other gift has ever been or will ever be as great as the free gift of eternal life. Jesus was willing to be seen in public with a woman that was shunned by others, with a person of a different culture that did not normally associate with Jews. He was willing to reach out to everyone and share the promise of hope. Show the love of Christ. Smile and greet people when you meet. Be ready to share what Jesus has done for you and how others might know Him as well. Don’t allow the weight of everyday life to steal your joy. Be thankful, be joyful, praise and worship His holy name…
