1 Thessalonians 5:15-18...Rejoice, pray and give thanks!

Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

When we are wronged it is so easy to want to lash out and to get retribution to satisfy our hurt and quench our anger. But this is not what God wants for us and not what He teaches us. Our responses reflect the will of God and the love that He has instilled in our hearts and minds. We are challenged to do good, to encourage and lift up each other and to find the positive in all situations. Difficult as that may sound we are not alone as God will help us in all that we encounter. Keep in mind the latter part of the text for today, Rejoice, pray and give thanks! Three things that are vital to the Christian life…
