II Corinthians 4:16-18...Do Not Lose Heart...

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Discouragement is a tool that is wielded against us daily. Many times it comes in the banter of friendly jabs and cuts that are not meant to be harmful but are twisted into tools of satan for destruction. You do not have to look far to find the worldly competition that places enormous weights on hearts and minds over matters of money, wealth, status and recognition. Instead of these acknowledgments we should fix our hearts and minds on the eternal, on things unseen. We should fix our gaze on the eternal and not the temporary. It is in God that we trust and in Him we place our hope for today and the future.
