What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

We have been blessed, as Christians, to understand many things that the world simply does not understand or even accept, through the Spirit of God,. Such simple things as the fact that Jesus laid down His life for the forgiveness of our sins and to provide a way for salvation and eternal life with God. Basic things that we accept as fact the world around us is oblivious. And even more so, ready to ridicule us because of the lack of understanding. We cannot hate those that do not understand, rather we must demonstrate the love of Christ so that they might be drawn to God and eventually come to His saving grace. Our life, our actions and our attitudes are an outward display of our inward spirit that God has instilled in each of us. Ask God each day to help you demonstrate the love of God.
