Psalm 51:10...Look around, pause, assess...

“Create in me a pure heart, O God , and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Not too long ago I caught a glimpse of a children’s show on television about a puppy who was hanging out with young piglets at the farm (you may have seen it). He played long and hard with his new friends and spent all of his time in their company. Before long he had been covered with mud and even the piglets mother could not see that he did not belong with her brood. This can just as easily happen with our daily life. If we are not careful we tend to become like those with which we spend most of our time. This is one of the many reasons our parents screened our friends. It is the same reason we are just as careful for our children. Influence is powerful. Our daily prayer needs to be like the scripture above, create in me a pure heart, daily cleanse me, point me in the right direction and guard my steps. Thank you Lord for your protection and your guidance.
